Anime of 2011: Freezing

Freezing is probably the first anime of 2011 that I watched. Episode 1-5 is already out and I’ve seen all of them. Somehow the anime reminds me of another anime called “Agent Aika” It is also a world of sexy girls with super natural powers and they haven’t forgotten about the fan service too.

The anime lacks the amount of panty shots compared to Agent Aika, but that part is compensated with oversized boobs and fanservice. The story, setting, art and the overall anime is nothing special or unique, but it is still worth to watch. Actually everything shaped like a woman combined with ecchi is usually worth too watch in my opinion. Honestly what anime is truly unique nowadays?

The setting is a world where creatures called Nova invaded mankind. The organization called Pandora trains people to fight these Nova. Hmmm… did they rip this idea from Neon Genesis Evangelion? They also modify their students DNA by implanting “Stigmata” to let them activate some supernatural powers. Female warriors can call forth powerful weapons and they are also the only warriors who posses the ability to move freely in the range of a Nova. Nova are creatures who “freeze” everything around them.

The female warriors are called pandoras and they need a limiter, a male warrior to stabilize their powers. Aoi, Kazuya is the main male character in Freezing. He offers himself to become el Bridget, Satellizers limiter. She is a second year warrior and bears the nickname “untouchable Queen”. People fear her because of her violent battle abilities and personality. Actually she is a very kind person, but a little bit shy when it comes to men. Somehow she don’t want people to touch her, that is why nobody wants to be her limiter, except for Kazuya. You’ve probably already guessed it, it seems that they have to do some ecchi stuff in order to become battle partners. He is the little brother of a legendary female warrior who already passed away in the anime. It also seems that he has some talented freezing skills too.

One of pandoras abilities is to regenerate damaged body parts, so it is a common activity of Pandora to hold tournaments and practices to let these students beat each other to almost a dead rabbit. Because of her reputation, el Bridget, Satellizer gets a lot of attention from her fellow students and seniors. They all want to beat second years number one warrior and of course Kazuya is trying to help her, by becoming her limiter.
