Anime Onsen loads too slow

Do you also think that AnimeOnsen needs a faster webhost or website optimization for faster page loads? I think that AnimeOnsen loads too slow too many times, don’t you think so? We are currently on a shared hosting, because I can’t afford a VPS and dedicated server. Some friends have offered me free hosting.

Please vote based on your experience browsing this website on your desktop. No mobile experiences please, mobile optimization is on my “To Do” list though.

However I have always been hosting with friends, but I can’t call the service and performance satisfiable, actually most of them were horrible. They change servers or server settings 200 times a year, that means a very low uptime for me. They don’t reply to E-mails or they just close down your website, because it is too heavy for our reseller hosting. Too heavy my ass, who was it again that recommended me to use WordPress as a CMS (pointing to my very first webhost)? Don’t blame WordPress, a well balanced shared hosting should be able to handle it. Believe me, he was overselling! Also he has changed web-servers several times.

The second is the worst of all three of them. Moving my website from my old host to theirs took almost three weeks (including all fixes). Maybe I should have done it myself, he is not very technical and hires other people to do it (probably without paying them). He used to be one of my clients, I did a lot of webdesigns and coding jobs for him and he never paid for some of those jobs. He calls himself an Internet Marketeer, he calls himself an expert in his slogan on his blog. He promises me all kind of things, but he never makes a contract, don’t even mention signing them. Nowadays he doesn’t even reply on E-mail. The funny thing is that he replied almost instantly when I posted a bitchy comment on his Facebook page. I was not insulting him. I just said something like: “Where is my payment? Within 14 days was what we agreed. Now it is almost a century” He also said that the payment should have been transfered or will be transfered at the end of the week. “My administration guy is working on it” …bullshit, if he was really that successful, then he wouldn’t be in the world of Internet Marketeers cheaters/thieves. His name is Tom de Haan and he is an ugly bastard. I should have hacked his website back then, when I still had his password.

The third host is the host that I am currently using. He is a friend of that Tom guy, Tom who stopped his hosting services and let this new guy taking over all the shit. I don’t know this guy personally, but the performance of his webserver is slow sometimes and I am already using all kinds of caching, compression and image hosting techniques to reduce te page load. He also never replied to my question. I asked “What are the new costs when my website contract (the invisible contract with Tom de Haan)” expires? I know his general prices and they are HIGH!

Seriously why am I hosting with these guys? Having some of them on Instant Messaging might be handy when you need them? Yes it is, but not when they are a “son of a bitch”. Many large companies have 24 hours support. I was thinking of moving my website to Hostgator or some other well known webhost. They should accept adult content, because I have hentai content once in a while. Any good suggestions? Should I stick with this bitch or fly away as soon as possible?

What about the friends I mentioned? I’m no big fan of IT people (they are IT guys), but I used to be one of them. Why is that? Because they are always advertising their own framework, their own CMS, their own servers without understanding the customers feelings. They are always experimenting new things which may result in a downtime for the other websites from users. We want something reliable and easy to manage (I’m a busy person), not something that changes all the time. They don’t think big, but they think in their own narrow minded field, not all of them of course. I do know some really good IT people, not only technical, but people who also understands about all other fields to run a succesfull business.

Right, it is all about user experience. Why do I use WordPress and not a custom build CMS? Free or paid doesn’t matter here. It is about user experience. I’m not a developer, but I do have a lot of knowledge. WordPress has a community. I Google “How to make a dynamic sidebar in WordPress” and I will find billions of tutorials. Also they have lots of plug-ins, I don’t have to program them myself. They even have a lot of variations in plug-ins for the same functionality. Am I a noob who is lazy to learn a new CMS? Maybe yes, maybe not! I admit that WordPress isn’t very fast or well programmed, but it is the most popular blog software / CMS out there. Even Sankakucomplex uses WordPress with Buddypress integration, just like AnimeOnsen. WordPress even exceeded Drupal and Joomla a long time ago. You can make a great website within a short time, it is all about the usability and total experience as I mentiones already. Custom CMS? Let’s wait till he finished building functionality “A” over two weeks, after that we still have to program and learn to work with B,C,D… and so on. Meanwhile I find a bug in “A”. Maybe good for his own CMS development, but not for me! Also some dudes from those webservers: “You have to change your WP core files” and clean up all the ugly php code from WordPress, otherwise it probably won’t work, because I programmed something that will only run clean code. Seriously why would you set-up these limits? They really should read the book “Don’t make me think” from Steve Krug. Not even mentioning that after every WordPress update you might run into errors. Seriously I don’t understand these people. They are very friendly people in real life, but thanks but no thanks……
